Preparing for Your Abhyas Retreat: Mindset, Packing List, and Intentions

Welcome to Your First Abhyas Retreat

Congratulations on taking a leap of faith and booking your first Abhyas retreat! We’re delighted to welcome you on this journey inward—a few days in your home away from home, dedicated to reconnecting with yourself and nature.

This practical guide is here to help you prepare for the days ahead.

Come with an Open Mind

The first and most important step is to release any expectations. Let them go, and arrive with a curious and open mind. You’re not here to achieve or become anything—only to witness, to experience, and to meet yourself in ways you may not have imagined. This openness will allow the retreat to unfold in the most nourishing way, both during your stay and long after you return home.

Return to Simplicity

As you immerse yourself in nature and a simple way of living, pack light and embrace the elements—earth, mud, water, breeze. You’re returning to the roots, where everything unnecessary is gently stripped away. This is a chance to align with the rhythms of the sun and moon, to step away from screens, and to rediscover the quiet joy of simply being.

Respect the Natural World

You’ll be sharing space with the natural world—birds, insects, and other wildlife. We encourage a mindset of respect and coexistence. Bring essentials like mosquito repellent, long-sleeved tops, comfortable pants for nature walks, an umbrella, and a journal with a pen for self-reflection. Morning and evening are especially ideal for journaling, intention setting, and quiet contemplation.

The Power of Silence

While there will be times for group discussions and shared learning, silence is an equally vital part of your retreat. Morning and evening silence periods help you turn inward, integrate your experiences, and connect more deeply with yourself. These moments of stillness often bring the greatest clarity.

Guided by Experts

Our experienced Abhyas instructors are here to support your journey of inner transformation. Arrive with the intention to be present, to engage, and to allow yourself to be guided without distraction. And remember, if anything arises—questions, or concerns—we are always here to support you.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you. Until then, take a deep breath… your journey has already begun.
