What to Expect at an Abhyas Retreat: A Day in the Life
A Journey into Conscious Living at Abhyas Retreat
Upon arrival at Abhyas Retreat, you’ll find yourself immediately immersed in the lush greenery of nature, far removed from the noise and pace of city life. Nestled at the foot of the serene Vireux Bamboo Mountain, the retreat offers a peaceful sanctuary. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the hosts of Anahata and gently guided to your eco-lodge, where you can settle in and take a deep, grounding breath.

Your journey begins with an introduction to conscious eating and responsible practices—setting the tone for the days ahead. After all, this retreat is about reconnecting with ourselves, and adopting responsible practices is the first step toward deeper awareness. A conscious eating session follows, inviting you to arrive fully into the present moment through each bite.
The next morning begins early at 4:30 am with cleansing rituals to prepare the body and mind for the day. A 6:00 am Conscious Barefoot Walk helps you reconnect with the earth, and find body-mind alignment, followed by a guided meditation led by an expert instructor. Grounded and calm, you’ll then enjoy a nourishing Sattvic breakfast, with many ingredients freshly harvested from the retreat’s garden and fruit trees. As part of our commitment to ‘gratitude tourism’ and sustainable permaculture, we honour nature by expressing thanks before meals and participating in community gardening—giving back to the land that nourishes us.

At 11:00 am, participants gather for a Group Sitting—a supportive, judgement-free space to share, reflect, and learn from one another. These moments often offer new perspectives and the clarity needed to begin the healing process. Whether through deep listening or speaking, the strength of a conscious community plays an essential role in our personal growth.
The afternoon offers time for quiet introspection or active engagement in the community, depending on what you feel called to. Some may choose to spend time by the waterfall—a refreshing ritual of release and renewal, symbolizing the letting go of what no longer serves.

At 2:00 pm, a wholesome Sattvic lunch is shared in silence, creating space for deeper internal harmony. With technology set aside, we return to ourselves and rediscover the beauty in simply being.
Later in the day, a Conscious Body Movement session begins at 5:00 pm, followed by Breathing Practices and Guided Meditation. These gentle yet deeply effective practices help release emotional tension and promote clarity of thought, all grounded in ancient wisdom.

Dinner is served at 6:30 pm and is intentionally light and optional, encouraging participants to explore the benefits of evening fasting.
The day draws to a close with Self-Reflection and Journaling—a quiet space to process your experiences and gain insight into your inner landscape. Guided support is available for those new to reflective practice.
Abhyas Retreat is more than a getaway—it’s a return to self. Through conscious living, shared presence, and mindful routines, we remember what it means to live with intention and authenticity.
